Abstract
This text is an analysis of the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, which although it is not a specialized historical book, it is a novel largely inspired by the events that occurred in the Belgian Congo and that is why it has become over time, a recurrent reading for the understanding of the terrible events that occurred in this part of Africa during the domain of Leopold II.
