Abstract

The teaching and celebration of the Independence of Mexico has an official version of what this historical event was, in addition to reinforcing the ideas of national pride and the exaltation of national heroes and symbols, but at the same time, there are different versions of the events. historical facts that contradict what has been taught that arise after reviews of the country's history. The history of Mexico is in charge of exalting the heroes and martyrs of Independence by showing only their values and positive qualities and omitting any historical detail that is unflattering about these historical figures. However, in recent years criticism has been made of these characters. and their role in national history, in addition to legends or rumors about the independence heroes and their lives, works, and deaths. In the end, what is taught by the State is a modified version of the Independence process, since what is sought is to promote patriotism and civic behavior. This work is the result of the participation of the author in the Seminar "Independence in Nuevo León, Visions and Historiographical Reviews" organized in 2021 by the CIH-FFyL of the UANL.
