Vol 1, No 6 (2023): diciembre-marzo 2023
Issue Description
For the sixth edition of Bloch. Student History Magazine, the editorial committee is proud to present you with research articles, film reviews, and essays; all with different themes. In addition, a dossier entitled "New Perspectives on Industrialization: Historical and Heritage Approach" is included.
In this issue we will explore nineteenth-century Mexico through the eyes of the Marquesa Calderón de la Barca, with the text "La Marquesa Calderón de la Barca: A Real Vision of Mexico" by Jesús Dolores Villanueva Hernández and Guillermo Gómez de la Rosa; We will also reflect on Independence with "The patriotic perspective in the teaching and commemoration of Independence. The different versions of patriotic heroes" by Alma Josefina Ramírez González and "Challenges and possibilities for the historiographical production of Nuevo León in the process of Independence of Mexico" written by Abelardo Gerardo Guajardo Garza; In addition, we will approach the Mexican Revolution with "The attack on Columbus and that of the architect Candelario Cervantes" by Kevin Eduardo Erives Chaparro and with "A proposal for analysis. The life of Blas Carmona Amaya in Miquihuana, Tamaulipas from 1891 to 1939” by Jaime Alberto Rodríguez Sánchez. Later on, post-revolutionary Mexico is the setting for the works "The Representation of Tijuana in American Prohibition Cinema: The Case of The Champ (1931)" written by Anel Mendoza Juárez, together with "Politics, Press and Power, 1917-1968” by Cristian Jiménez Machorro. Finally, the seventh art and its relationship with History is analyzed through the "Review of the film Nudo Mixteca by Ángeles Cruz, or Manifesto on the Perspectives of Closeness" by the author Abril Ameyal Loyola Nuño.
On the other hand, the dossier is the result of the work carried out in 2022, by the Nuevo León Regional Industrialization Processes Seminar (SPIR NL) and the Center for Historical Research (CIH) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (FFYL) of the UANL, in the organization of the workshop "New Perspectives on Industrialization: Historical and Heritage Approach". Under the direction of Claudia Roxana Domínguez García and Oscar Abraham Rodríguez Castillo, the workshop was developed during the months of March to August of the mentioned year, with a clear objective: to share with the students of the College of History of the faculty recent research methodologies and experiences related to the industrialization process in Nuevo León. From these activities, the investigations that makeup said dossier emerge. We invite you to read it.
