Abstract
The objective of this text is to show the current situation of the historiography on Nuevo León during the process of Independence of Mexico, the reasons why it is not so studied compared to other historical periods of Nuevo León, the situation of the current historiography of the process of Independence of Nuevo León, its achievements and how these texts form firm bases for new works to be developed in the future, as well as the challenges that historians must face to investigate the period of independence in the regional scope and the various forms or possibilities of facing and overcoming these challenges. This work is the result of the participation of the author in the Seminar "Independence in Nuevo León, visions and historiographical reviews" organized in 2021 by the CIH-FFyL of the UANL.
