Abstract

In the mid-18th Century, a group of taxes, the Townshend Acts, stared to plunder and pauperize the 13 English Colonies of North America; those acts had as goal the economic recovery of the British Crown because the high expenses that wars and interventions had meant to it. Between those laws was the Tea Act, which meant a tax per tea pound. The North American people got mad and to show it they made several vandalism and boycott actions; the Tea Party meant not just a great lost to English economy but a violent response to their culture and lifestyle. In the current paper we pretend to sketch about the hostility toward the tea as a way of parting of the English culture and a variable of the birth of a new national identity.
